Blackjack is a game of numbers. And it is not at all possible to play it, win, by putting a blind guess. It just cannot be done! In order to gain a fluency at this card game and eventually win, one must learn, or otherwise adapt; to some mathematical calculations that are there, already been defined. With use of those and with a little help from luck, the game of Blackjack can be easily mastered. The play of this game is dependent on very basic strategic, which had been developed over these years by putting to use many trail and errors and simulations, using artificial intelligence; that somehow worked. From all, there are two basic strategy charts: single deck & multiple decks.

Use of basic strategy: First and foremost, a player needs to get acquainted with the different abbreviations that are used. These are included in the basic strategy charts, which appears somewhat as described below;

• H - Hit
• S - Stand
• D - Double if allowed, otherwise hit
• Ds - Double if allowed, otherwise stand
• P - Split
• H/P - Split if you can double after split, otherwise hit
• H/R - Surrender if allowed, otherwise hit
• P/R - Surrender if allowed, otherwise split
• S/R - Surrender if allowed, otherwise stand

Players do have to be able to read and also understand them. Without which playing the game can be found to be very confusing.

Memorizing the strategies: Lugging around a ‘basic strategy chart’ is just not feasible when playing a game of blackjack while sitting at a table. One will have to remember it, so it becomes easy to make some space for a winning move. If at all the charts seems difficult to understand or for that matter being remembered; the player can always look for logical patterns amongst the chart so as to better understand.

Winning the game: Any , there is! Is 70% strategy and rest 30% chance and the game of Blackjack is not different to this subtle fact of ‘strategic-chance’. So a player must bear in mind that any strategy, however foolproof it might appear, cannot be used with the same implication that it portraits. Every game changes and so does the outcome of every strategy. Thus a player needs to keep a keen eye on the game moves, the opponents and also be aware if the strategy is working or no. This can be crucial and can determine winning over losing.
