News Online Casino takes Revenge on Donald Trumps´ the Apprentice 12 Dec 2004
You´ve probably already seen one of the hottest TV shows currently on the air called The Apprentice. In each episode, land based casino magnate Donald Trump ends up firing some poor soul before the show is over. One online casino now offers everyday people a chance to bet and make money on the odds of big wig CEOs getting the chop. Online casinos have given gamblers a chance to gamble on almost everything from sports games to the outcome of the presidential elections. But now a UK online casino has discovered a new niche form of online betting and they are attracting attention in the process.
Most online casinos offer the player the chance to bet on the standard casino games as well as sports games. You can download the free software; make an online deposit on your favorite game and play to win. But one casino has a different idea about what makes good casino betting subject matter. Corporations are always news worthy and certainly when a big wig CEO gets canned it makes headlines. So this online casino has decided to offer the player a chance to bet on the longevity of a corporate CEO´s time in the spotlight before getting the axe.
This is a unique and somewhat humorous idea for a betting concept (expect for the CEO f course). Betfair, a British online casino, will allow players to bet on whether 10 corporate leaders will be able to keep their jobs past April 30, 2005. Players can bet on whether William Owens, chief of telecoms equipment giant Nortel, and Royal Bank's Gord Nixon, will stay in the hot seat. At Betfair, gamblers bet against each other instead of a central bookmaker. Many of the CEOs chosen actually represent large corporations based in Canada.
Jordan Ferguson, Betfair's head of International sales, had this to say: "Canada's the first time we've done this because Canada's one of the market's where there's an enormous amount of interest in investment and in publicly traded companies." In the race to keep online casino gambling fresh, funny and interesting new ideas are constantly being tossed around. Donald Trump didn´t make this list this time around but you never know, he ma crop up on the list at some point in the future.
